Intermediate Care Facilities for the Developmentally Disabled (ICF/DDs) provide 24-hour active treatment services for individuals in community, group, or residential home settings. These facilities are licensed by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals' Health Standards Section (HSS).
An "Intermediate Care Facility for the Developmentally Disabled" is a licensed establishment designed to offer residential care for four or more individuals who require continuous active treatment.
